Simba SLD cultivator

Simba has slimmed down its SLD deep-tined cultivator to 3m and 3.5m to appeal to medium-scale arable farmers. The new, rigid 300 and 350 combination cultivators are narrower than the firm’s previous offering and will work down to 300mm. Needing anything upwards of 180hp, it will cost about £40,000 and production is due to begin in October. Simba was also displaying its deep-working DTX cultivator, which is now available with auto-reset protected legs. One of the company’s best sellers, it’ll work down to 400mm and the DTX 350 costs £28,000.

Sumo Versaplus drill

British manufacturer Sumo had its new Versaplus drill on show. Designed to be as universal as possible, different sections can be lifted clear of the ground depending on the conditions – even the drilling coulters. Available in 3m, 4m and 6m widths, it has a row of trash-cutting front discs that cut a slot for the loosening legs that follow. Further back are two sets of hydraulically adjustable scalloped discs and a row of press wheels. Bringing up the rear are individually-mounted coulters. The 3m version has a 2,100-litre hopper and requires 180hp, while the £78,652, 6m drill has a 3,100-litre hopper and will sap 280hp.
