Power tool specialist Bosch has released a 18V battery, which it claims has 90% more power than the previous model while also being 30% smaller than other high-performance batteries on the market.

The new 7.0Ah batteries have an improved cell design and longer battery life thanks to some clever Coolpack technology, with all the new units compatible with the 18V flexible power system range offered by the company.

When compared with the previous range topper – the 6.0Ah battery – the new unit can drill 50% more holes per charge when spinning through softwood with a 32mm spade bit, claims the firm.
