Bobcat farm buggy now comes in road-legal form
Bobcat’s 3400D utility vehicle (a sister-under-the-skin to the Polaris Ranger) is now available in road-legal form.
It’s powered by a 25hp Yanmar water-cooled diesel and has a large 34 litre diesel tank. Top speed is 30mph, though low gear and reverse is limited to 15mph to give maximum torque.
The 241mm of ground clearance should help should help in the mud.
Four-wheel independent suspension involves MacPherson struts on the front end and preload-adjustable shock absorbers in the rear. The rear shocks also have two different mounting positions, a normal setting for ordinary situations and a shock-mounting position for heavy loads.
The plastic cargo box holds 500kg and has tie-down points, a manual lifting lever and fold-flat tailgate. Max towing capacity is 680kg.
