Scaled-down Terrain GX4s joins Corvus UTV range

Spanish maker Corvus now has the full complement of UTVs, with the petrol-powered Terrain GX4s joining its diesel DX4 and electric EX4.

The newcomer brings with it some dainty proportions, with its 2.65m length and 1.45m width making it 75cm shorter and 20cm narrower than the diesel derivative.

Its redesigned two-seater chassis provides a 1.8m wheelbase, 242mm ground clearance and a neat turning radius of just under 3m.

Power comes from a single-cylinder, 561cc engine tuned to deliver 42hp and 54Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. This runs through a two-range belt-driven transmission.

As for its carrying credentials, the GX4s is rated for a payload of 440kg – of which 250kg can go in the steel cargo box – and to tow up to 869kg.

Four spec levels are available, with the “Base” version offering four-wheel drive, a rear diff-lock, underbelly skid plate, rear tow ball, a cab roof and mesh doors.

The next grade up, Base EPS, brings electric power steering, while Pro EPS adds a front windscreen. “Cab” variants get, well… a cab – and a heater.

By comparison, the established DX4 gets its power from a three-cylinder, 993cc Yanmar engine producing 24hp. It will tow 907kg, carry 450kg in the cargo box and has a healthier 309mm of ground clearance.
