New diesel ATV hits the market
Farmers wanting a cheap-to-run diesel ATV will soon have a new option in the form of the Diesel4ce (pronounced dieselforce) 840ATV.
The new machine is powered by a Winsun 840cc air-cooled diesel developing 25hp. Economy apart, its biggest asset is torque – at 40Nm output it is claimed to be greater than from any other ATV.
“Convenience and economy are the biggest attractions of a diesel-fuelled ATV,” says Glyn Bowen, sales and marketing director of Enviro Transport Solutions. “As an agricultural vehicle, it can be fuelled on the farm from the red diesel tank, and with up to 60mpg possible a lot of money can be saved over the year.”
Mr Bowen, an ATV dealer and experienced user of farm quads, has teamed up with Manocher Salik, who produced the now-defunct Scottish-made diesel Ecorider and Ecoquad ATVs, to design and engineer the Diesel4ce (diesel force).
To build the machine with a generous specification at a competitive price, production is contracted out to a manufacturer in China. Product and parts distribution is being handled by Hereford-based HFT Forklifts, and several dealers have already been signed up in preparation for the first shipment of quads arriving.
Two pre-production examples have been used for trials here and the Diesel4ce looks to be well-equipped. It has a two-speed CVT drive, selectable two- and four-wheel and a front diff lock. A tow ball hitch and lighting socket are included, as are load racks front and rear and a power winch.
The lighting and other essentials that make the machine road legal are also part of the machine’s £5,950 list price.
The only other mainstream diesel ATV on the market is Arctic Cat’s 700cc model.
