HexHog all-terrain wheelchair enters production

A six-wheeled, all-terrain wheelchair developed to allow disabled people better access to the more rugged parts of the UK countryside has gone into production after securing the backing of a manufacturer.

To see a video of how it works, follow the link to our story from the launch of the prototype in 2014: Six-wheel-drive ATV gives easy access to countryside

The all-electric wheelchair is powered by a 48V, 5KWh battery, giving a range of 32km before needing a charge, and it can reach speeds of up to 15kph (9mph).

Prices for the HexHog start at £16,500 for the entry-level model and it has apparently attracted interest from adventure parks across Europe.
