Cushman UTV arrives from South Korea

Cushman 1600XD UTV

The latest UTV to land on the UK market has arrived. It’s branded as Cushman and built by a South Korean firm called Daedong, but you might also recognise it as the Kioti Mechron.

Grass-and-turf specialist Ransomes Jacobsen is importing the Cushman farm buggy to the UK.

It gets a three-cylinder, 22hp Korean-built diesel engine and has the option of a hydraulic power source to run a post-driver or auger. Selectable four-wheel drive is standard, as is a locking rear diff on the back and limited slip diff at the front.

The Cushman is available as a left-hand drive version and the CVT transmission has a high and low range and independent four-wheel suspension. Top speed is 40kph and ground clearance is 30.5cm (12in), which Cushman says is higher than most of the rivals’ machines. Towing capacity is 589kg.

A clevis towbar is standard and there is plenty to pick from on the options list including a hydraulic tipping bed, cab roof and doors.

The driver gets the luxury of a suspended seat, with space for two passengers on a bench seat.

Price of a basic 1600XD-R is £10,790.
