Ineos launches cheaper two-seat Grenadier Commercial 4×4

Ineos Automotive has unveiled a two-seat version of its Grenadier 4×4 that allows owners to reclaim VAT and receive lower benefit-in-kind tax rates.
The van-style Grenadier Commercial replaces the two seat Utility Wagon in the firm’s UK line-up, with prices starting from £51,931.

It features a flat, full-length deck, which is big enough to accommodate a standard 120x80cm Euro pallet and is fronted by a floor-to-roof cargo barrier.
Interior load space totals 2,000 litres, and the vehicle retains its 3.5t towing capacity. It can also be fitted with a 5.5t-rated winch.
Other Commercial-spec alterations include replacing the rear passenger windows with aluminum panels, blacked out glazing on the split rear doors and permanently disabled chassis mounting points that prevent a second row of seats being added.
There are no changes underneath, with the same box-section ladder chassis, heavy-duty solid beam axles, two-speed transfer case and up to three locking differentials.
Like the rest of the range, power comes from a petrol or diesel 3-liter BMW straight-six engine.
The vehicles are produced on the Ineos Automotive production line in Hambach, France – acquired from Mercedes-Benz in 2021 – with Commercial conversions completed in the UK by Pontypool-based engineering outfit EDC.
