Electric Wheels unveils nifty Jimny-sized electric pickup
Norfolk-based UTV specialist Electric Wheels has unveiled a battery-powered pickup comparable in size to the iconic Suzuki Jimny.
The cheapest version of the diddy Chinese-made Pickman 4×4 comes in two-door, two-seat guise with a 1,620mm-long cargo bed at the back.
Opting for the four-door variant gains extra passenger space at the expense of carrying capacity, with the load bed 720mm shorter – albeit marginally wider and deeper.

Power comes from a lithium-ion battery that runs two motors – a 7.5kW unit to drive the rear wheels, and a smaller 3kW version for the front wheels.
This combination provides a top speed of 40mph and a range of up to 70 miles. Recharging takes roughly four hours.
Its diminutive proportions – just over 1.5m wide and 3.6m long – have limited load bed and towing capacities to 500kg, but the standard spec is significantly better than an equivalent UTV.
Highlights include roof rack-mounted spotlights, air-conditioning, electric windows, a reversing camera, power steering and a radio, and buyers can also pick from a range of tyres to suit its intended use.
List prices are between £20,000 and £22,000, which is about the same as Electric Wheels’ Worker UTV when specced with a lithium battery.
