Video: Highlights from another record-breaking Stirling bull sales
Over 8,000 visitors flocked to Stirling to see this year’s Stirling bull sales where records were set and elite genetics once again found new commercial and pedigree homes.
Several new records were confirmed as 757 pedigree cattle were offered over the two days (23 and 24 October), including Aberdeen Angus maiden heifer and Beef Shorthorn bull records.
A new high of 20,000gns was set by Angus heifer Cheeklaw Pru and Derbyshire newcomer Chris Mallaber saw 12,000gns in the Beef Shorthorn ring.

In addition to the Cheeklaw Aberdeen Angus herd dispersal the sale also showcased the dispersal of the Sterling Simmental herd of the Boddington Estate, Cheltenham.
Orkney’s Baillieston herd of Charolais cattle had 45 lots forward in a reduction sale.
Trade was particularly strong for Charolais, which saw clearance rates up 19% to 82% and averages up £405 on the year, and the Beef Shorthorns which hit a record average of £5,121.
Limousins levelled at £5,065, lifting £120 on the year, while the Sterling dispersal was the highlight of the Simmental trade. Simmentals reported a 52% clearance.
