Tercrosset tups hit 1800gns top call
Friday’s sale of tups from Thomas and James Whiteford, Tercrosset, at Carlisle met a strong trade, with a top call of 1800gns coming for a Texel shearling which sold to regular buyers Messrs Knight of Wasdale.
Next best was a 1300gns sale for a Beltex cross shearling, with another three lots passing the 1000gns mark.
The 120 shearling ewes on offer met a strong trade too, peaking at 460gns apiece for a pen of three which sold to Messrs Semple, Dalrymple, Ayrshire. And the ewe lambs on offer sold to a top of 280gns for a brace which picked up tickets at the Highland and Great Yorkshire.
Averages; 100 shearling rams ÂŁ610.99, 120 shearling ewes ÂŁ245.52, 83 ewe lambs ÂŁ118.22 (Harrison and Hetherington).
