Stirling Beef Shorthorn females level at £2,906

Females led Shorthorn prices at Stirling on Monday (17 October) by hitting a top of 16,000gns for a cow-and-calf outfit, with others to 12,000gns and 8,000gns.

Elliot Estelle 852 from John Elliot’s Elliot herd, Kelso, sold with her March-born Fearn Godfather daughter at foot. She is by the Canadian sire Sull GNCC Salute and is out of the Canadian dam Bodmin Estelle 20S. She went home with Mary Cormack, Leominster.

Also from John Elliot was Elliot Miss Lea 324 at 12,000gns. She sold to Charles Lowther, Penrith. She is a Hill Haven Firestorm heifer out of a WHR Sonny daughter and sold in-calf to Fearn Godfather.

LJ Townsend, Moffat, then sold Coxhill Desiree P645 to Mary Cormack for 8,000gns. He is by Millerston Kasper.

Bulls topped at 4,500gns for Westbroad Rishi from Duncan Welsh, Fenwick, Kilmarnock. Rishi is by Shawhill J-A-T and out of a homebred Craigfaddock Finn McCool daughter. He sold to Liam Muir from Orkney.

Next at 4,200gns was the Poynington Himself son Knightland Poundstone from Michelle Petit. He sold to HD, Bailie, Dromora.
