Chalford Manor lead trade at Borderway beef sale
Bulls topped at 7,200gns at the Border British Blue Club autumn show and sale at Borderway Market, Carlisle, last week (Friday 29 September).
Leading trade was the February 2015-born reserve overall champion, Chalford Manor Knockout, from D Plested, Chinnor, Oxfordshire.

Sired by the Wacko Van Het Beekhof son Cromwell Fendt, he is out of Cromwell Diddup and sold to A Baillie, Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire.
Next in the money at 7,000gns was the next lot in the ring, male and overall champion Almeley Kasper from Graham Morgan, Tillington, Hereford.

Sired by Drybarrows Cawdale, this May 2015-born bull is out of a homebred dam.
He caught the eye of J Hyslop & Sons, Biggar, Lanarkshire.
Then M Stevenson, from Girvan, Ayrshire, paid 6,500gns for third-prize bull Brownridge Blues Knight Rider from DJ and B Spours, Twizell Farm, Belfor.
This September 2015 son of Henlli Wishmaster is out of College Valley Ellie.

Next came a bid of 6,200gns for the first-prize bull, Top Side Kupid from R & RA Pattinson, Kelowna, Roadhead.
Sired by Naby Golddust, this November 2015-born bull is out of Stowback Edwina. Purchaser was JD Yeats, Haltwhistle, Northumberland.
Females peaked at 5,000gns for the female champion, Willnant Lara from Adrian Williams.
Sired by Dafydd D’OChain, she is out of Willnant Gina, the 2013 interbreed champion at the Armagh county show. She sold to an undisclosed buyer.
Aberdeen Angus
On the same day, the Aberdeen Angus Society’s autumn show and sale saw bulls sell to 5,800gns, with the first-prize winner Glenade Destroyer S333 leading the pack.

From the Glenade herd of Messrs M and J O’Hara, Pinner, he is sired by Lakewood Prince Maverick H068 and is out of Elliot Delia D002. Buyer was MW Walton & Son, Hexham, Northumberland.
Next best at 4,000gns was another first-prize bull, McCornick Kingkong S240 from Martin McCornick, Newton Stewart.
Sired by Halbeath Kitemark N500, he is out of a homebred dam whose grandsire is Netherton Mr American E370. Purchaser was HW Slater, Turriff, Aberdeenshire.
Averages: British Blues: eight bulls, £5,118.75; three females, £3,850. Aberdeen Angus: 15 bulls, £2,831.50.
