South Devons reach 2900gns at Exeter

Last Friday’s sale of South Devons at Exeter for the South Devon Cattle Breeder’s Clun saw trade peak at 2900gns for Messrs Bartley’s bull Mutterton Strongbow 9. This one, by Northwick General 8 and out of Mutterton Rosebud, sold to R Drew, Redruth.

Next best among the bulls was a 2350gns call for Waddeton Magic 2 from The Tully Partnership. He’s by Trewent Magnet Magic and sold to P Toop, Yelverton.

In the females the top call and championship went to Murray Garrett, Okehampton, with maiden heifer Billington Alice Ziri, a March 2007-born polled heifer by Z Billington Pastiche 24. She sold for 1620gns to Messrs Morgan, Leominster. Leading the cows and calves were the Tullys with Waddeton Calypso 21 which sold to G Coles, Shaftesbury.
