Simmental females make strong trade at Perth

With a strong entry of powerful, yet stylish Simmental females with breed values to match, it was no surprise that they met a solid trade at Perth today.

Selling for the day’s top price of 6000gns was G Lloyd’s champion entry, Crugmelyn Twilight. This stylish dark heifer is by Raceview King and out of Celtic Limelight. With a terminal sire index of +19 she now heads to Jim Goldie’s Newbie Main herd at Fife.

Mr Goldie took home a few more lots today, including Lyvennet Titania from Messrs Addison for 2000gns.

Next highest was P and C M Goldsbrough with their first prize winning Copper Mill Snow Queen. This Milnafua Keystone daughter is out of a home bred female and now joins the Simmental herd at Maucastle Farms for 4800gns.

Also at this bid was W H robson’s Kilbride Farm Eunice, selling to Joe Wilson. The reserve champion from J Wilson sold for 3400gns. This Annanwater Pioneer daughter is out of a home bred line and sold with an index of +21.

Peterborough-based Charles and Sally Horrell came in at 3200gns to secure Iain Green’s March 2005 Corskie Spice and in again at 2500gns for Corskie Sadie. Spice is by Strathisla Nuggat and Sadie is by popes Laird.

Hugo Arnold’s Hockenhull Natalie 39 was the first female forward and met a strong reception selling for 3000gns.

In at 2800gns was Joe Wilson to secure J A McGowan’s Dirnanean Tiree T15, a Halenook
Panache daughter.

And just before that Adrian Ivory, Strathisla Farms gave 2500gns on a phone bid to take home Dirnanean Tammy from the same stable and again by the same sire.
