Shottle daughters in demand

A total of 128 Picston Shottle daughters featured in the dispersal of L E Sweetland and Sons non-pedigree herd last week, with a top call of 3800gns paid for a March calved Shottle heifer giving 37.4kg a day.

Then making 3600gns was Bettiscombe Lee Strawberry 61, a third calver, with a brace of Mascol heifer calves included.

And selling at 2700gns was Moorshard Raven Faun, due with her third shortly, and also at that money was a July calved Shottle daughter.

Average; 127 cows and heifers £1722 (Greenslade Taylor Hunt).
