Royal Welsh Show 2018: Pig interbreed results
In the Royal Welsh Show’s pig ring, last year’s reserve interbreed champion British Lop returned to claim the top spot.
It followed a tally of wins for Cornish pig breeder Julian Collings, who was also awarded male and female champion with his Welsh pig exhibits.
His showstopper was Knighton Queen 24284, who claimed breed champion at the Great Yorkshire and Royal Cornwall earlier this year.
She farrowed with her sixth litter in February and has reared 67 piglets so far.
She will be shown at Oekhampton Show next month and will then go home to retire before she has her next litter in September
Robert Emerson from Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, scooped the reserve interbreed rosette on his first outing at the Royal Welsh with his home-bred Large White gilt, Greenhill Farm Champion Lady 47a.
It represented Mr Emerson’s seventh breed championship out of eight this year.
