Royal Welsh 2016: Pig and sheep showing results
Temperatures soared to over 30C this week in Llanelwedd, Builth, and things were certainly warming up in the livestock show rings, with all categories hotly contested.
In the pig ring the red ticket winner was Landrace sow Sunrise Vega R006626LA, shown by Gerallt and Joyce Owens with their son Llyr, from Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.
The sow, born in July 2013, last farrowed in February and is currently in-pig and due within the next few weeks. Sired by Fai Kola, her dam is Sunrise Vega.

In reserve was pedigree Welsh boar Gwynys James 1892 R004706WE, shown by Huw and Ela Roberts, Pwllheli, Gwynedd.
The reserve champion, born in September 2015, was sired by Braemore James 3 and his dam is Gwynys Model 1259.
Beating a strong line-up of more than 40 breed champions was Worcestershire’s John Sinnett with his home-bred ewe lamb sired by Irongrey Blackmagic.
Mr Sinnett, from Stockton-On-Teme, who won reserve interbreed last year with a home-bred shearling ewe, managed to take reserve interbreed with the ewe lamb at the Three Counties in June.
In reserve was a North Country Cheviot home-bred, shearling ewe sired by a Carruthers tup from local breeder Gareth Hughes, Llaithddu, Llandrindod Wells.
It represented the first major win for Mr Hughes, who only starting showing three years ago.
