Royal Welsh 2013: Sheep supreme results
It was ladies’ day in the sheep ring, with judge Mary Gittins, from Welshpool, awarding the supreme and reserve rosettes to ewes when rounding up the week’s championship judging.
The individual champion was awarded to a Charollais for the second year. The victors were last year’s winners Gregor and Bruce Ingram and their shearling ewe, all the way from Aberdeenshire.
Sired by Crogham Hannibal she is out of a ewe the Ingram’s purchased at the Dalby flock production sale two years ago for 4,200gns. She was crowned breed champion at the Royal Highland earlier this summer.
In reserve was John Sinnett’s homebred Suffolk ewe, from Worcester, which was shown by Clive Meredith. This shearling is sired by Stockton Percy T.
