Quality beef sought at Middleton in Teesdale Mart

Harrison and Hetherington held their annual Prize show and sale of 136 Beef Breeding Cattle on Tuesday at Middleton in Teesdale Mart.

Purchasers were keen for quality sorts with averages rising in all sections.

Cows with calves at foot averaged £1,618.08 + £580.33

Heifers with calves at foot averaged £1,832.08 + £476.77

Cows in calf averaged £1,082.73 + £186.37

Heifers in calf averaged £1,255.83 + £233.01

The show was kjudged by Mr T Thompson who made the following awards:-

1st & Winning the Simpson Fuel Oils Perpetual Trophy – J A Robinson, Low Nook – £2,500 to M W & E Dent,

2nd T D Robinson, Prospect Farm – £2,400 to W M Reed & Sons, West Biggins

3rd T D Robinson, Prospect Farm – £2,450 to C M Dobson
