Senior management changes at Moy Park

Further senior management changes are underway at poultry integrator, Moy Park, following the decision of current chief executive, Nigel Dunlop, to retire.

Mr Dunlop, who has headed Moy Park for the past six years, is to step down at the end of this year and will be replaced by current group finance director, Janet McCollom.

“Since joining Moy Park in 2008, Nigel has played a pivotal role in the complete reorganisation and turnaround of the business,” said a company statement. “Moy Park has since achieved record levels of profitability and has almost doubled in size.

“Nigel has successfully led Moy Park through one of the most challenging periods in recent times and leaves behind him a proud legacy of a strong, profitable and growing business.”

Ms McCollum will assume her new role on 1 January 2014, having been with the business for a number of years. Prior to joining Moy Park, she worked for Coca Cola and Schweppes Beverages, after graduating in business administration at the University of Aston, Birmingham.

She is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and sits on the main board of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce.

Earlier this year, Marfrig, the company’s Brazilian parent, restructured the business, making Moy Park responsible for all of its European operations, adding about £500m to its £1bn turnover.

Moy Park was acquired by Marfrig in 2008 – the year that Mr Dunlop joined the company.

Other recent management changes include the appointment of former NFU north-east regional director Barney Kay as the company’s GB general manager for broilers, and Ursula Lavery as technical director for Europe.

Des Newlands was also recently recruited from 2 Sisters as demand controller for the agri-fresh division.
