New-look website for British Turkey

British Turkey has announced the launch of a new-look website aimed at getting consumers cooking with turkey.

Part of British Turkey’s remit is to encourage consumers to view turkey as a year-round meat, and it has enlisted Olympic badminton medalist Gail Emms and ambassador for turkey, Phil Vickery, to create recipes that move away from the traditional roast dinner. It is billed as a healthy, less expensive alternative to other white meat.

A new section has been geared specifically at chefs, encouraging them to keep turkey on the menu all year round.

The revamped site has been optimised for viewing on mobile phones and tablets, as well as traditional desktop computers, to reflect changing habits when browsing – “a must for the modern chef”, according to British Turkey.

Nicky Compton, chair of the British Turkey publicity and marketing committee, said: “Our website has always been popular with consumers, but now it is possible to access relevant and exciting content and even more inspiring turkey recipes wherever you are.”

The site can be found at http://www.britishturkey.co.uk
