Kirkby Stephen market sheep sale

An entry of 1,843 sheep was forward at Kirkby Stephen Mart, consisting of 1,431 Prime Lambs and 412 Cast Ewes and Rams.

Topping at £94.80 was a Texel lamb from Messrs Hastwell, The Buildings which was bought by Mr A. Atkinson.

Topping at 211.4p/kg were a pair of Beltex lambs from Messrs Hughes, Dona Close and purchased by Vivers Scotlamb.

Trade was firmer than expected, being similar to last week and dearer than it had started at the beginning of this week.
