Lely‘s innovative Juno automated feed pusher is now on sale in the UK.

This battery-powered unit moved along the feed barrier, pushing back feed to the cows without the farmer or stockman needing to be present. It automatically returns to its charging station at the end of each run.

The company says that units will push back feed to the cows eight times a day (compared to three times on most farms), giving a 5% increase in dry matter intake.

The unit costs £13,000 but Lely is offering it to farmers on a 60-day trial for £500 (for delivery and installation). Finance packages with one- to five-year terms are available too.
