Holstein Friesians top 2400gns at Monmouth
A top of 2400gns three times meant G R Morgan and Partners at Rockfield, Monmouth, of their dairy herd had a successful dispersal.
P A Rymer of Caldicot was the first to pay the top price for the March calved 3rd calver Clark Flora by Bo-Bar-Ran Elton Clark.
The same buyer paid the same money for Rhaglan M Lord Copper, a daughter of Eastview Meadowlord which was five weeks into her second lactation.
The third cow to make the top price was Rosparry Hunter Lady 19, a second calver by Hunter out of a 9651kg Rosparry Thor dam, purchased by G W J Turbutt for a client.
The first cow in the ring made 2000gns. Denver Lotus, a second calver by Shanail Formation Denver had calved on New Year’s Day and was three months in calf to a British Blue. The buyer was Mrs G M Jones, Newent, Gloucestershire.
Worcestershire buyers, L Grainger and Son, Bewdley, paid 2000gns for the third calver Rhaglan Connie, giving 39kg after calving six weeks earlier.

Maiden heifers peaked at 1020gns paid by R J Wilcox of Clevedon, Somerset, for Rhaglan Marbella, a daughter of Comestar Outside off a Hanoverhill Raider sired mother.
Heifer calves sold to 900gns for Milkmaid, a Picston Shottle daughter, the buyers being P J Watkins and Son of Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
