Hexel Texel dispersal hits 4200gns

The dispersal of the Hexel flock of Texels for Donald and Sarah MacPherson at Carlisle yesterday peaked at 4200gns for a shearling ewe by Castlecairn Obelix out of a dam by Straidarran Legacy. She sold to Messrs Renwick, Kelso.hexel 4200.jpgSecond best sale was a 2050gns bid for the best of the older ewes, a Garngour Neptune daughter out of another Legacy-sired dam. She also went to Messrs Renwick.

At 1150gns was a Douganhill Jeronimo daughter out of a dam by Glenside Jackpot. She was bought by J S Bryson, Closeburn, Thornhill, Dumfriesshire.

A trio then sold at 1050gns with the first being another of the older ewes, a February 2008-born Garngour Neptune daughter out of a dam by Glenside Jackpot. She is maternal sister to 4500gns Hexel Mofo and sold to Procters Farm, Clitheroe.

Second at this price was a Cambwell Nutcracker daughter out of a dam by Haltcliffe Jeunot, she was bought by Caroline Roots, Dumfries.

And the final bid at this money was made A Minto and Son, West Linton, when they bought a Garngour Neptune-sired shearling ewe and out of a dam by Glenside Jackpot.

Best in the reduction sale of the Glenway flock was a 950gns bid for a Teiglum Kung Foo daughter out of  a dam by Courthill Jurassic. She sold to M Mennie, Petercutter.
