Pink bale campaign raises more than £18,500 for charity

A charity campaign that has seen farms around the country display bright pink silage bales in aid of breast cancer research has raised more than £18,500 this year.

This has smashed the previous sum of more than £10,000 raised last year.

It is the third consecutive year the initiative has been run, with Volac, merchants and manufacturers Trioplast, donating £3 to research charity Breast Cancer Now for each roll of its pink Topwrap film purchased.

This year’s pink bale campaign has surpassed last year’s fund-raising total by more than £8,000

“The response we’ve had to the campaign has been nothing short of amazing,” said Jackie Bradley from Volac.

“The aim was to help raise awareness of the disease – while all the time raising money for a fantastic cause.

“We want to extend our wholehearted thanks to everyone who has taken part.”
