Good demand at Bristol dairy sale
Joint auctioneers Gwilym Richards and Norton and Brooksbank report another highly successful monthly sale at the Bristol Sales Centre with several new buyers in attendance resulting in a good trade particularly for the milkers at the April event.
The top price was 2400gns for Marcroft Goldwyn Marsala from W J and P Puddy, Highbridge, Somerset. This Braedale Goldwyn sired heifer was out of a 12,199kg dam. She was one of two heifers purchased by an undisclosed West Wales buyer.
The same buyer paid 2250gns for Moorshard O Ross Amanda from R K Miller and Sons, Bridgwater, Somerset.
Another of the Marcroft consignment made 2050gns selling to B M Coombes and Sons, Wedmore, Somerset.
Top priced cow was Bettiscombe Kendall Eden from R E Bugler and Partners, Dorset which sold for 1900gns. The Alfrag Juror Kendall sired second calver was purchased by P A Ryme, Chepstow. Calved heifers from the Bettiscombe sold up to 1980gns and 1950gns.
