Get your Schmallenberg virus questions answered with our live web Q&A

To address growing concerns over the arrival of the Schmallenberg virus in the UK, we’ll be taking your questions about the disease during a live online Q&A on 9 Feb.

ADAS livestock consultant Kate Philips will be taking questions about lamb management on FWi on the 9 February between 6.30-7.30pm, but since 11 cases of Schmallenberg have been confirmed in the UK (at time of writing) the chat will also be joined by an expert from the British Veterinary Association (BVA).

This is your opportunity to put your questions about the virus directly to the experts. Are your livestock showing any unusual symptoms that you’re concerned about? Who should you contact if you suspect the virus might be present on your farm? How easily is it transmitted? Are humans at risk?The Q&A will also be joined by a Sussex farmer who is expecting Schmallenberg to be confirmed on his farm in the coming days.

We’ll still be inviting any general lamb management questions and asking our panelists to offer practical advice to help you get the most out of your 2012 lambing.
