Carlisle Continental in-lamb sheep fair tops at 510gns
Leading with a call of 510gns at Saturday’s in-lamb offering of Continental females at Carlisle, was Jan Rodenburg, Ceredigion, who sold one of his Dutch Texel females from his Turbo flock. His sale leader was by Den Burg King out of a daughter by Den Burg Texel. She sold to M Davis, Lancashire, having scanned to be carrying twins by Turbo Romeo.
His next best was one by Turbo mr Marmite out of a Turbo Lord daughter. Again scanned in lamb carrying a single to Turbo Romeo, she sold to J Lee and Sons, Hexham.
The best of James and Thomas Whiteford’s run of beltex/Texel/Dutch texel shearling gimmers was a call of 500gns twice from H Thompsomn and sons, Barnard Castle, while Andrew Bulmer, Malton, north Yorks also paid 500gns for another.
Of the five Blue Texels on offer from Mr and Mrs J lyle, Fife, trade topped at 460gns for February 2008-born female in lamb to Miserden Oscar, she sold to Messrs Cormack McDowell and Partners, Dumfriesshire.
