RPA launches phone service for cattle births, movements and deaths

Cattle births, movements and deaths can now be reported by a new automated phone service.

The new self-service line for the Cattle Tracing System is available 24/7 to cattle keepers registered with BCMS. Farmers can report births, movements and deaths as long as cattle have UK numeric ear tags. Information is checked while the farmer is on the phone and a reference number provided after each transaction is complete.

Farmers using the system must call from the phone number registered against their holding. Keepers must still complete the details of death in the passport and return it to BCMS within seven days of the date of death.

For more information or to check your numbers correctly registered against your holding email bcms-enquiries@bcms.rpa.gsi.gov.uk
