Exporting pig genetics to eastern Europe is set to become more prevalent, thanks to a growing interest in high health status herds and increased production rates.

A contract between a Polish farmer and JSR Genetics for 105 gilts to establish a nucleus herd is the latest in a line of deals aided by Polish government preferential credit schemes for young pig farmers.
