Having previously served as NFYFC’s president from 2002 to 2006, King Charles has a long-standing connection with the organisation.
He facilitated visits to his Highgrove estate for members and presented awards at the old Royal Show at Stoneleigh, showing his commitment to rural youth and community engagement.
Drew Bailey, chair of the NFYFC council, expressed pride in having the King as their patron. “His Majesty’s commitment to Young Farmers’ Clubs reflects our proud history of nine decades of developing rural young people’s skills,” he said.
“Much of our work focuses on developing rural young people’s skills and raising awareness about opportunities in the sector.”
The patronage honours Queen Elizabeth II’s legacy, reflecting her support of the challenges facing young farmers and rural communities.
Her involvement with the NFYFC included numerous engagements with members and support for agricultural initiatives.
