Welsh farmhouse kitchens set to cook breakfasts for charity
Farmhouse kitchens, cafes and village halls across Wales are set to fill the air with the smell of breakfast for charity once again.
Hosted by Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW) branches during their annual breakfast week, 24 breakfast events are planned from 18-24 January to help raise funds for the Wales Air Ambulance.
Last year’s efforts raised more than £17,500 for the charity.

Union officials say the events are a great opportunity to start the day together and help them celebrate 70 years since they were formed in 1955.
Union president Ian Rickman said: “From Llangefni to Llanarthne, the farmhouse breakfast week is one of the highlights of the year, providing an opportunity to start the day together with family, friends and neighbours, in a positive way.
“A lot has changed over the past 70 years – agriculturally, socially and politically, but the FUW’s commitment to our family farms and rural communities remains unwavering.”Â
A breakfast event in Cardiff, which is sponsored by Welsh Liberal Democrat leader Jane Dodds, will hear from Huw Irranca Davies, deputy first minister and cabinet secretary for climate change and rural affairs.
Guto Bebb, FUW group chief executive, added: “At what is a difficult time for the sector, we look forward to the event in Cardiff – ensuring politicians and policymakers hear the needs and asks of the Welsh agricultural sector.”
