Nominate a ‘Farming Champion’ for the FW Awards

Are you, or is someone you know, a farming champion?
Farmers Weekly and the NFU are looking for individuals who are selfless in their devotion to strengthen British farming as contenders for the coveted title Farming Champion of the Year.
Potential candidates could, for example, be campaigning for justice for British farmers, promoting the value of agriculture to the public or developing business models that will benefit many British farmers.
Last year the title was won by Jimmy Doherty (pictured), whose TV series Jimmy Doherty’s Farming Heroes communicated key farming and countryside messages to millions of viewers.
If you know someone who deserves this accolade, please nominate them now by going to the website.
There is also a range of other categories, allowing you to nominate people for their achievements in various sectors of the industry.
The FW Awards have become a symbol of the innovation and commitment of British farmers. Now in their fifth year, they have recognised nearly 150 finalists and winners for their achievements and hard work.
The awards night is the biggest in the farming calendar and will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on 8 October 2009.
