More than 80 tractors roll for Humberside charity run

More than 80 tractors joined a charity tractor run in Humberside to raise over £6,000 for a local hospice.
The farming community came together for the bank holiday Monday tractor run on 2 May, for the second running of the annual event.
The Humberside Tractor Run 2022 started at 11am at JP Woodcrafts Yard, in Goxhill, North Lincolnshire, and it journeyed 33 miles across the countryside through town and villages including Barton upon Humber and Thornton Curtis.

The run finished at the Royal Oak pub in Barrow upon Humber, where additional funds were raised through a raffle and tombola.
Organiser Steve James told Farmers Weekly: “We had 82 tractors that took part in the run. The amount of people who came out to support us was unbelievable.
“So far, we have raised more than £6,000 for Lindsey Lodge Hospice, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. This is before any additional funds raised from the raffle, collection book and other donations.”
Nicola Rye, from safety equipment and corporate workwear firm Reincarnate Safety, spent hours co-ordinating T-shirts and tops for participants to wear on the run.

Prizes for best tractors
Two prizes were handed out on the day.
Ed Richardson won the trophy for the best turned-out tractor for his Ford 7810 Silver Jubilee tractor.
And the Willy Bell Memorial Shield, awarded for the best working tractor (“oily smoky, scruffy old girl”), went to Barry Mumby for his Doe Triple-D tractor.
Kathryn Stuart, a fundraising co-ordinator at Lindsey Lodge Hospice, attended the event.
She said: “It was a really great day. It’s amazing for the local community to organise this tractor run to raise funds to help people in North Lincolnshire. We are very grateful for their support.”
