Photo of the Week: Maize in the maize for protesting farmers

As the logo of No Farmers No Food has dominated farmer protests this year, the family thought their maize maze would be a good opportunity to help with the campaign. 

With the help of Agrii, they were able to map the logo, and Watkins Contractors were able to precision drill by GPS.

The Hughes family farm on the mid Wales/Herefordshire border. They are now in their second year of planting a maize maze on the farm.

They farm approximately 1,000 acres comprising of mixed arable and a home-bred herd of suckler cattle.

As they were already growing maize on the farm, they thought it would be an opportunity to diversify by creating a maze in the maize.
