Photo of the Week: Big John drilling down under

This week’s photo has been sent in to us from New Zealand. Oscar Harrold from our own East Yorkshire is working down under on a 1,800ha farm in Fairlie on the South Island for spring drilling and harvest.

The photo shows “Big John” out at sunset, pulling a 45ft sunflower cultivator.

Oscar says: “We are mainly an arable farm and produce linseed, barley, wheat and white clover across 1,800ha of land.

“Big John has become essential to cultivate and prepare the land for drilling. Transporting Big John can be quite a challenge as he is too big to travel on most roads.”

If you’d like to feature in our Photo of the Week, send you photo in to our Farmlife Framed photo gallery.
