Farmers Weekly Photography Competition 2022: Open for entries

Farmers Weekly’s photography competition 2022 is now open for entries. Our annual contest offers readers the chance to win a share of £500 of prizes and see their pictures published.

With eight categories covering a range of farming and rural topics, the competition is your big chance to celebrate and share the best of the countryside in pictures.

You can enter as many pictures in as many categories as you like (just as long as you’re not a professional photographer).

We’ll be printing the winners and a selection of others in Farmers Weekly’s bumper Christmas issue.

The overall winner and two runners-up (which will be selected from the eight category winners) will receive £300 and £100 each, respectively.

The categories are:

  • Black and white
  • Livestock
  • Landscapes
  • Machinery
  • People
  • Pets
  • Wildlife
  • Young photographer (open to anyone 16 or under on the closing date).

Feel free to get out and about to take photos specifically for the competition, or dig out some favourite farming snaps you have already taken.

You don’t need to use a swanky camera, either – many of the best shots in previous years have been taken on a smartphone.

But the higher the resolution the better (ideally we need a minimum file size of 2MB or bigger).

Entering is quick and easy, you just need to upload your best pictures to one or more of the relevant online entry galleries.

We always like to read a little description with your snaps, too – so don’t forget to tell us when and where your photo was taken, and what it shows.

We can’t wait to see what you come up with. Good luck!
