Farmers team up to carry fibreglass cow to mountain summit
A fibreglass cow is set to be carried to the peak of Mount Snowdon this bank holiday weekend to raise awareness of UK food and farming, and generate cash for charity.
On Saturday 4 May, volunteers will spend more than three hours carrying the cow for nine miles, scaling 1,150ft to the summit of Wales’ highest mountain.
The stunt is in aid of Cows on Tour, an organisation that promotes British farming in schools across Wales from 13-19 May, and to raise money for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institute (Rabi) and the DPJ Foundation, which aims to support people in rural communities with poor mental health, especially in the agricultural sector.

“Our aim is to re-establish a connection between the urban and rural communities to publicise our industry and highlight how integrated we all are – and this was achieved,” said chairman Matt Shervington Jones.
“We have been amazed by the response we have received from the farming community.
“It is so rewarding to know that, as a community, we have each other’s backs.
“This is also demonstrated in the amount of people who have volunteered to help us during the tour.”
