Farm kids writing competition

These are the terms and conditions covering Farmers Weekly‘s use of material submitted to the Farmers Weekly Children’s Writing Competition 2020.

  • Every piece submitted via the entry form at www.fwi.co.uk/kids-writing-comp will be automatically entered to our competition.
  • Contributions must adhere to health and safety guidelines to be considered eligible
  • In this context, “submitted” is deemed to mean “uploaded” via the entry form on FWi titled "Contribute to Farm kids writing competition".
  • By uploading a photo, you are granting us permission to use that photo in connection with the Children's Writing Competition 2020 in Farmers Weekly magazine and online.
  • By uploading a photo, you are confirming that you own the copyright to it and that there will be no fees attached to the use of the photo by Farmers Weekly, either in the magazine or online.
  • The competition is open to anyone between the age of 4 and 16 (inclusive) belonging to a farming family or one connected with any of the affiliated agricultural industries or the supply chain.
  • Other readers of FWi will be able to see your story once you've uploaded it to the website, so by entering the competition you are granting permission for the story to appear on the website.
  • The entries the judges like best will be published in Farmers Weekly managing (and on the website).
  • Farmers Weekly and its affiliated companies and businesses reserve the right to use any of the submitted stories in full or part without limitation – whether in the magazine, on the website, on social media, or in any other medium or format – both in connection with promoting the Farmers Weekly Children’s Writing Competition and in any other context.
  • By submitting a story to Farmers Weekly (or doing so on behalf of a young person) you are confirming that either you or they own the copyright to it and that there will be no fees attached to the use of the story as outlined above.
  • People submitting stories to Farmers Weekly retain the right to use those stories again themselves for personal and/or commercial purposes.
  • You can submit stories that have been entered for other competitions, as long as doing so doesn’t contravene the terms and conditions of the other competition or competitions.
  • There is no limit on the number of stories you can submit.
  • The decision of the judges as to the selection of the winning stories is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The competition opens on April 24 and the closing date for entries is 11.59pm on May 24, 2020.
  • The winner in each of the three age categories will receive £50 plus a goody bag from competition sponsor Isuzu.
