Manitou will have its new MLT 840 telehandler at Lamma. A replacement for the company’s MLT 741, the new version has a 137hp Deere engine, a lift capacity of 4t and a lift height of 7.5m.

A 40kph automatic transmission is fitted and the five-speed M-Shift box has two modes of operation – automatic and manual. In automatic mode, ratio changes are made according to loading and speed and it is possible to restrict the highest gear availability. In manual mode gear changes are made by pressing a joystick button.

Other features include a four-mode steering system, a sizeable cab and a ‘bucket mode’ setting which allows the operator to still use crowd and auxiliary services, and raise and retract the boom when the boom load has exceeded pre-set limits.
