Livestock 2013: Colostrum pasteuriser thaws and reheats fast
A new calf colostrum pasteuriser, which has the ability to thaw and reheat colostrum four times faster than regular two-litre bottles, is now available through G Shepherd Animal Health.
The stainless steel MilkWorks Gold machine reduces the risk of transmissible disease by heating colostrum within a single unit.
It has been specifically designed to be used with 3.8-litre Perfect Udder Bags, which come with screw-on nipples and feeding tubes to make it easier to feed calves.
It can hold up to six large bags, costs £3,800 and comes with a 12-month warranty on all parts. Bags are priced at £1.80 each and come in packs of 50.
