JCB shows its Tier 4 Final telehandlers

The lack of an external exhaust silencer – and red Agri decals – are about the only clues to the Tier 4 Final telescopic handlers being launched by JCB Agriculture at Lamma.

The silencer is now tucked away beneath the engine hood and incorporates the SCR injector and catalyst as a simple one-can emissions package that can be decommissioned for export of used machines to less-regulated markets.

First to get the Tier 4 Final treatment are JCB’s Loadall 531-70 and 536-60; the 536-70 in standard and LP (low profile) forms; the 541-70 and high-lift 535-95; plus the 550-80 and 560-80 bulk handling machines.

Power and torque outputs are unchanged at 109hp, 125hp and 145hp, so there is no impact on performance.

Fuel consumption is also unaffected, says JCB, whose LiveLink telematics system has apparently recorded an average 5.97-litre/hr from 4,200 handlers clocking up more than 2.5m machine hours across a range of agricultural applications.

A new high-flow auxiliary hydraulics option delivering up to 105-litre/min flow at 190bar for bale spreaders, sweeper brushes and similar implements joins other Smart Hydraulics features, such as auto boom suspension on/off, a pressure relief valve for quicker attachment change-over, and auto bucket shake
