Lamma 2015: Manitou updates its Gehl skid-steer loaders
An improved operator station and new engines are among the updates to create the ‘R’ series Gehl skid-steer loaders being shown by Manitou (Stand 507) for the first time.
There are three “large frame” models powered by Yanmar engines of around 70hp output and with the radial-action arm lift to either 3m (R190) or 3.12m (R220 and R260). Standard operating capacities can be increased by adding optional counter-weights; that increases the R190’s lift from 862kg to 957kg and the R260’s from 1,179kg to 1,261kg.

In the open air or sealed cabin, a new side-folding restraint bar and armrests with multiple adjustments make life more comfortable for the operator, says Gehl; likewise, the adjustable joystick and hand/foot controls that are alternatives to the standard ‘T’ bar.
A customisable digital display, pressure-relief hydraulic couplers, and extra-wide rear door and engine cover for service access complete the package.
