Avant reveals new range of loaders

Thetford firm Avant Tecno has launched a new range of tight-turning compact wheeled loaders designed for working in pokey livestock sheds. Unlike the rest of Avant’s range, drivers of the new R-Series sit in the back section of the bend-in-the-middle chassis.
The company reckons farmer demand for a machine designed primarily for working in tight spaces is high. Like all Avant models, the R-Series has a rigid articulation joint with the rear of the machine acting as a big counterweight to improve stability.
The first two models available are the R28 and R35, which have similar specifications to the existing Avant 528 and 635 machines. Power comes from Kubota diesel engines providing 29hp and 38hp respectively and drive via hydrostatic, four-wheel drive transmissions. A telescopic boom provides the R35 with a maximum lifting height of 2.8m.
