Well maintained Cumbrian stock units for sale
Retirement brings two Cumbrian stock farms to the market.
At 459 acres, Low Lonning at Hallbankgate, near Brampton, is the larger of the two. This is a beef and sheep holding offered as a whole or in two lots with a four-bedroom farmhouse and cattle housing.
The first lot has a guide price of £1.55m and includes 220 acres of good grazing and mowing land, the farm steading and four-bedroom farmhouse.
Modern outbuildings include the former dairy building, two byres, a bull pen and store. There is also a range of traditional buildings.
The guide price for the farm as a whole is more than £2.1m, with the second lot being 237 acres of improved and rough upland grazing at a guide price of £550,000.
“Both farms include good sheep grazing ground and pasture, suitable for a sizeable flock running alongside a suckler cow herd,” said Matthew Bell of H&H Land and Property. “Low Lonning is an excellent stock rearing farm, which has been very well maintained by its current owners.”
The farm is in an Upland Entry Level Stewardship (UELS) agreement, which began on 1 August 2010.
Hartlaw Farm at Silloth near Wigton has 260 acres of good grazing land, two houses and a good range of traditional and modern cattle handling and housing.
This is also offered in two lots with the first including Hartlaw House, the steading and 259 acres of land. The four-bedroom farmhouse has a granny flat and has recently been refurbished.
The second lot includes a four-bedroom detached farmhouse and just over an acre of land. The guide price for the farm as a whole is £2.2m.
Hartlaw has been exceptionally well managed and maintained and has an excellent reputation for stock rearing, said Mr Bell.
“Hartlaw is a former dairy farm and the new owner could easily convert it back to a dairy enterprise.” (H&H Land and Property 01228 406 260)
