A modern dairy farm in Cheshire and two blocks of bare arable land in North Yorkshire offer investing farmers opportunity this week.

Weaver Wood (pictured) will be the best dairy farm for sale in the UK this year, says agent Savills.

Weaver Wood Farm

The modern enterprise near Winsford has been subject to intensive investment for 25 years and includes more than 163,000sq ft of connected covered space, a 36/36 Westfalia rapid-exit parlour and 364 acres of grassland.

Tony Morris-Eyton from Savills said: “If you were to design a dairy today, this is how you would do it. It’s set up to milk about 500 cows but has had more in the past.”

The farm also has a 27,000-litre milk silo and ventilated calf housing.

A death in the family brings the farm to market at a guide price of £5m-£5.5m with a further 97 acres and the farm’s milking herd of 250 Friesian Holsteins available by separate negotiation. (Savills 01952 239 500)
