Strike action at three poultry processing plants in the West Midlands has been averted following discussions between 2 Sisters Food Group and Unite.
Unite, the UK’s biggest union, had started to canvass its members for possible strike action at three sites in the West Midlands belonging to the 2 Sisters Food Group over pay levels.
However, following a meeting yesterday (7 December), the processor and Unite issued a joint statement: “2 Sisters and Unite have reached an outline agreement on a two-year pay deal for employees at three sites in the West Midlands. Unite and 2 Sisters are confident that a formal agreement will be reached shortly.”
