Small farms in Shropshire and Devon

Shropshire and Devon offer small farms this week. Almost 70 acres of fertile grassland with planning consent for a farmworker’s house is on offer in south Shropshire with joint agents Halls and Nock Deighton.

The land at Lower Coston Farm is on the edge of Aston on Clun and in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The land is being sold in two lots, with an overall guide price of ÂŁ550,000. Lot 1, with a guide price of ÂŁ350,000, includes 42 acres of grassland adjoining the River Clun, a static caravan, steel portal-framed building, surfaced yard and building plot for a four-bedroom home.

The second lot is more than 27 acres of level grassland, also on the River Clun, divided by a railway line and with a guide price of ÂŁ200,000.

There are combined Entry Level and Higher Level Stewardship schemes running on the land until October 2018. (Halls 01743 284 777; Nock Deighton 01746 762 666)

Meanwhile, Greenslade Taylor Hunt has an east Devon smallholding with a three-bedroom bungalow at Sidbury near Sidmouth.

Plyfields has 51 acres of productive permanent pasture in a ring fence and is in an elevated position overlooking the Sid Valley. As well as its detached bungalow, there is five-bay concrete frame-covered yard with a lean-to, a range of loose boxes and a pole barn, also with a lean-to.

The guide price at Plyfields is ÂŁ695,000. (Greenslade Taylor Hunt 01404 46222)
